Hotel→Eindhoven Station→Nuenen
Visited Van Gogh Church,
Bought souvenirs

Nuenen →Eindhoven Station→Hotel

Picked up by Piet
Dinner at the Lemstras.

Sent back by Piet
Hotel Campanile Eindhoven
Despite Piet recommended to visit the Philips Museum, went to Nuenen. Took photographs and bought souvenirs. The green of leaves was thicker than that in the beginning of April seven years ago (See the normal 'Photo Album' - Holland 2017). At 4:30, taken to the Lemstra's House for dinner prepared by Magda. Besides the main dish  beefstake, she kindly cooked rice for this visitor from Asia. On the way, bought "Gekkeikan" for an additional souvenir. The subject of intensive chat with Piet ranged from the purpose of life to the current world situation ruled by printed money. We remembered the late last century when Netherlands was most prosperous with Rotterdam port, DSM, Akzo-Nobel, Philips, Fokker Aircraft, etc., whilst in Japan the economy was pretty good because not only the automobile but steel and metal, machinery, electronic, chemical and all sort of industries performed well. Both of us were happy to have played in the area of high-performance polymers, the major stream of polymer science. Green Polymer Workshops which Piet and I had planned and held twice in Java in 1966 and 2000 were enjoyable events. Returned to the hotel at 21:30. Packing of clothes and belongings.

"VAN GOGH CHURCH/ This Waterstaatskerk was built in 1824. The attached vestry room dates from 1928. An 18-bell carillon, donated by the Nolte family, was placed in the turret on the roof during the restoration in 1965. The church is best known because Vincent van Gogh painted it. Rev. Bart de Ligt, active in the League of Christian Socialists and the Peace Movement, preached here from 1910 to 1915. He was exiled from Nuenen in 1915. The building now has a cultural function, including as a wedding location and music hall."

At 12:30 checked out the Hotel Campanile and drove to Schiphol by Piet's car, navigated by Bob Fifiedld on crowded roads. Arriving at Holiday Inn Schiphol, we were told that there comes no hotel bus nor public bus, contrary to the advertisement in the Internet. Such as this was the second time in this trip, after Swindon. Hotels with name of "Holiday Inn" used to be reasonable and reliable, as experienced in Eindhoven, Kyoto and Bandung, but now not. Never chose again. After checking in and putting luggage in the room, continuously drive to Amsterdam. Rob Kirschbaum welcomed us and took us to his boat for cruising canals. It was occasionally raining and cold. Took a dinner at a waterside restaurant. Sent to the Holiday Inn by Pet and Bob (Fifield) and paid farewell.
