Statue of the Taylor sisters, Jane (1783-1824) and Ann (1786-1866), who wrote the poem of "Twinkle Little Star." They lived in the town. Sir Bob Russell who had got the idea to build their statue raised £90,000. The statue was made by Mandy Pratt from Ardleigh and the mould by Des Stanley from Great Tey, while the statue was cast by Sculpture Services of Manningtree.
